It's already been 20 years...yet I still have such vivid memories of growing up at Good Stewards Church (GSC). The early years are cherished deep down in my heart, but I can't refrain from reminiscing as we celebrated 20 years this past Sunday. Back when we started attending, GSC was just a baby church...they began meeting with just a family of seven. Being one of the first families, we had no idea what God had in store for us as a church. In 1991, Sunday services were held at a local Montessori school in Rowland Heights. It was there we made church friends for the first time, many whom we see even today! I still remember singing "Deep Deep" led by John Oh, eating "Moo Gook" (Korean Radish Soup) on cold, rainy days (I'm still so amazed how the moms put together a hot lunch each week...without a kitchen!), and performing in a Christmas program (Stella, do you remember hiding behind giant hearts, trying to refrain from letting our laugh attack ruin the entire song?!). It's good to reminisce. Through GSC we watched and learned true servanthood (something I admire about the Korean Church) and began a faith journey that still reveals much to us today. We have been personally touched by Reverend Song and his family. Rev. Song is truly a man after God's own heart...someone who loves...someone who prays. He is someone you completely, absolutely, 200% respect. Thank you for your ministry, and we pray for health and safety as you continue to serve God overseas.
(GSC is a mother church to Living Hope Community Church--where we attend today) :)
